Get Well Soon Spots and Stripes

A Get Well Soon Card:

This card is for the following challenges:
Broken Box Stock - Get Well Soon
http://brokenboxstock.blogspot.co.nz/2013/01/challenge-18-get-well-soon.html
Stamptacular Sunday - Spots and Stripes
http://stamptacularsundaychallenge.blogspot.co.nz/2013/01/challenge-200-spots-stripes.html
Sunday Sketch & Stamp - Sketch

Tuesday Alchemy - Anything Goes
http://tuesdayalchemy.blogspot.gr/2013/01/challenge-49-anything-goes.html

The background papers are from Spyder's Corner - crooked spots and crooked stripes.  The main image that I have used is also from Spyder's Corner - Sorry you caught a Bug!  I have used a combination of copic markers and Faber Castell Watercolour pencils to colour the image.

I followed the sketch at Sunday Sketch and Stamp for this card.

I have also added some lace and grosgrain ribbon and then added a stamped flowery design.  This stamp is one from an A4 sheet of clear stamps that came with a magazine some time back - the backing sheet doesn't have the brand name on it and I can't find where I put the magazine as it is probably on that!  I coloured the flowery design in copics to match the main image.

Cat in a Laundry Basket

Having had cats that like to put their fur all over the clean laundry if you leave it out, this image appealed to me:

The card is for this post at Crafting with Jack:
http://craftingwithjack.weebly.com/1/post/2013/01/choose-your-own-freebie-and-its-snowing.html
I am also entering this card in the challenge at Tuesday Alchemy:
http://tuesdayalchemy.blogspot.gr/2013/01/challenge-49-anything-goes.html

This card uses backing paper from a pad by Kate Knight. The image is from Crafting with Jack and is called cat in a laundry basket.  I have used some glitter cardstock at the top for a bit of contrast and added some rhinestones.  I have a piece of ric-rac braid from American Crafts wrapped around the die-cut image.  The die is a Spellbinders one.

While I am doing this post, I am including links to two other cards using Crafting with Jack images. Both of these are for the progressive challenge at Lady Anne's.
The first is a religious image:
http://craftysuze.blogspot.co.nz/2013/01/o-little-town-of-bethlehem.html
The second is a traditional candle image:
http://craftysuze.blogspot.co.nz/2013/01/christmas-candle.html
I think if you are quick you can still get these images and join in the progressive challenge at Lady Anne's.  The link is on each of those posts.

Photo Inspired Cupcakes

The inspiration for this card comes from the challenge at The Alley Way Stamps:
http://www.thealleywaystamps.blogspot.co.nz/search/label/BE%20inspired%20Challenge
I am also entering this card into the challenge at Tuesday Alchemy:
http://tuesdayalchemy.blogspot.gr/2013/01/challenge-49-anything-goes.html

For some reason, when I looked at this photo I saw food and the plate.  Maybe I was hungry at the time!

So, I have cupcakes and an embossed die-cut image.  The embossed edge is similar to the edging on the plate.  Now, why did I notice that!  I have kept the colouring similar to the colours in the photo - they are as good as any and I know they work well together.  The background for the card is stippled Distress Ink - Worn Lipstick.  I stippled it fairly softly so it was more of a pink tinge than a red.  I have added three rhinestones to the top of the card - it just seemed like it needed something there.

Add red to skating girl

Ice-skating girl has a bit of a red theme:

This card is for the following challenges:
A Day for Daisies - Add red
http://www.adayfordaisies.blogspot.co.nz/2013/01/new-releases-011813-i-love-and-winter.html
Tuesday Alchemy - Anything Goes
http://tuesdayalchemy.blogspot.gr/2013/01/challenge-49-anything-goes.html

The card uses two papers from a paper pad.  I have added some red glitter tape from American Crafts across the bottom of the lower paper and punched with Spellbinders Edgeabilities dies.  The image that I have used comes from A Day for Daisies, coloured with copic markers and cut with a Spellbinders Oval die.

I have made another CAS card - seem to do a few of those!  This one uses a repeated digi stamp from PaperCrafting World.  The image has been coloured with copic markers and then matted onto dark red cardstock.  The embellishments are three red rhinestone hearts.

Ballroom Sassy - CAS

Another CAS card - this time using Ballroom Sassy:

This card is for the challenges at:

http://www.ladyanneschallenges.com/2/post/2013/01/our-3rd-anything-goes-challenge.html

The background paper is from DCWV and is from a paper pad called Immortal Love.  To this page, I have added the matted image and some rhinestones and copic coloured pearls.

The image that I have used comes from Sassy Studio Designs and is called Ballroom Sassy.  I've had this image for a while and I love it.  As this is a CAS card, I have kept the colouring to just red and black and skin/hair tones.

Photo Inspiration Snowman

A wintry card:

This card is for the following challenges:
Catch the Bug - Photo Inspiration
http://catchthebugblog.blogspot.co.nz/2013/01/january-photo-inspiration-challenge.html
Penny's Paper - Embossing
http://pennyschallenges.blogspot.co.nz/2013/01/challenge-111-embossing-wet-or-dry.html
Stella Says Sketch - Sketch 129

Kaboodle Doodles - Winter
http://kaboodledoodles.blogspot.co.nz/2013/01/challenge-156-winter.html

I have embossed the background using some glitter cardstock from DCWV and a Tuscan Tiles embossing folder.  Two of the papers that I have used come from Décosse's Dynamite Doodles.  The white paper in between that I have border punched with a Martha Stewart Eyelet Lace Border Punch is from Free Digital Scrapbooking.  It has a vellum snowflake look but hard to pick that up with a small piece!

The image that I have used comes from Bugaboo and is called Lil Snowman.  I have coloured him with copics and added some Kindy Glitz for snow.  I have added three white pearls as embellishments.

Woodland Girl in a Square

I love how this sketch has worked really well with this image.

This is the sketch that I used from Sweet Sketch Wednesday (link below):

This card is for the challenges at:
Sweet Sketch Wednesday - Sketch 190
http://sweetsketchwednesday.blogspot.co.nz/2013/01/is-it-spring-yet-sweet-sketch-wednesday.html
Meljens Designs - Be A Square
http://meljensdesignsdt.blogspot.co.nz/2013/01/challenge-144-be-square.html

The background papers come from two different paper packs.  The reddish-brown one comes from a Glitz paper pad.  The checkerboard one comes from a DCWV paper pad called Eternal Love.

I have placed a border using reddish-brown glitter tape from American Crafts.  I cut it in half lengthwise as it was too wide for what I wanted.  The image is one from Meljens Designs Studio called Woodland Fairy, coloured with copic markers and die-cut with a Nellies Multi Frame die.

The embellishments are a white flower (coloured with copics) with a pearl added to the centre along with some other pearls and square rhinestones.

Charming New Sassy Cassie

The image that I have used for this card is New Sassy Cassie from Sassy Studio Designs.

I am entering the card into the following challenges:
Sassy Studio Designs - Dare to Be Sassy Thursday
http://sassystudiodesigns.blogspot.co.nz/2013/01/dare-to-be-sassy-thursday-161.html

Lady Anne's Challenge - Anything Goes
http://www.ladyanneschallenges.com/2/post/2013/01/our-3rd-anything-goes-challenge.html

I have embossed the background using gold pearlised cardstock and an embossing folder.  This one is a Spellbinders M-Bossabilities folder (EL-011).

The image is from Sassy Studio Designs and is called New Sassy Cassie.  I have coloured her using copic markers and then added some gold stickles to her hat band.  I wanted to keep the colouring soft on this image.  The image has been die-cut using a Spellbinders die and then embossed using the embossing mat rather than matting.

I have added a soft pink satin bow and a charm to embellish the card.

Nutcrafters Girlie Girlie Card

A girlie girlie card - chance to bring out the lace again:

This card is for the challenges at:

The background paper is from a paper pad called Paper Wishes.  The lace is some from my stash.  I have added a pale pink organza bow to the top of the lace.  The image is from Nutcrafters, coloured with copic markers and die-cut using Spellbinders.

Salsa Dancing Couple

I have had this image for a few weeks but hadn't had any inspiration for it until now:

The card is for the challenges at:
CRAFT Challenge - Valentines or Love
http://trimmiescraftchallenge.blogspot.co.uk/2013/01/challenge-191-24th-of-january.html
Totally Papercrafts - Let's Dance

Papertake Weekly - Tie up loose ends
http://papertakeweekly.blogspot.co.uk/2013/01/tie-up-your-loose-ends.html

This card has been made with some backing paper from a Valentines set by Trimgym.  The die is a Lattice Rectangle from Spellbinders.  The image that I have used is Salsa Dancing Couple from Trimgym.  I then added a bow as a finishing touch.

Saturated Canary Embossed Card

A fairly simple style card with some embossing and a beautiful Saturated Canary image:

This card is for the challenges at:
Penny's Paper - Embossing
http://pennyschallenges.blogspot.co.nz/2013/01/challenge-111-embossing-wet-or-dry.html

The background paper that I have used comes from Trimgym.  The embossed panel is an embossing folder.  The image is from Saturated Canary and has been coloured using copic markers.  The matting is a paper from DIY and Digital Designs which was the right shade of red to complement the Trimgym paper.

Thank You - with wings

Another Thank You card:

I'm really loving how this one came together.
It is for the following challenges:
Tiddly Inks - Wings
http://tiddlyinkschallenge.blogspot.co.nz/2013/01/challenge-102-wings.html
Papertake Weekly - Add a bow
http://papertakeweekly.blogspot.co.uk/2013/01/tie-up-your-loose-ends.html
Sentimental Sundays - Thank You + sentiment
http://sentimentalsundays.blogspot.co.nz/2013/01/challenge-139-thank-you.html

I have used a paper from a paper pad by DCWV called Mariposa Matstack.  The image and sentiment are from Tiddly Inks.  I fussy cut the main image after colouring with copics and die-cut the sentiment.  I added some Glossy Accents to the butterflies on the background paper to give them some dimension.

Limited Runs Dog

A love letter:

This card is for the following challenges:
Seems a Little Sketchy - Sketch 31
http://seemsalittlesketchy.blogspot.co.nz/2013/01/sketch-31-bugaboo-eureka-stamps.html
CRAFT Challenge - Valentines or Love

PINspirational challenge - Photo Inspiration Dog
http://pinspirationalchallenges.blogspot.co.nz/2013/01/pinspirational-challenge-41.html

I have used some background paper from my stash - actually this piece had fallen onto the floor.  When I picked it up, I decided to use it for this card rather than put it back away!  The image is from Limited Runs and is called Little Puppy Love.  I have coloured with copic markers.  I have used Spellbinders dies for the die-cutting.  The sentiment is from Paper Smooches.  I have also added three little red heart rhinestones.

Girl and her Dog

I've had this embossing folder/die for some time and I'm not sure whether I have ever used it on a card:

This card is for the following challenges:
Whoopsi Daisy - Use a Digi
http://cutedaisymay.blogspot.co.nz/2013/01/use-digi-challenge.html
PINspirational Challenge - Dog Photo
http://pinspirationalchallenges.blogspot.co.nz/2013/01/pinspirational-challenge-41.html
Love to Create - share 3 favourite colours
http://lovetocreatechallenge.blogspot.co.nz/2013/01/challenge-49-share-your-3-favorite.html

The background for this card has been created with a Marianne's Designs combination embossing folder and die-cut.  I used this on some white pearlescent card and then backed it with some orange paper.  The image is from Whoopsi Daisy and has been coloured using mainly orange, yellow and red.  The dog is a different breed from the one in the PINspirational photo - but it is still a dog.

For embellishments, I have used a white flower which I added colour to, some red ribbon roses and some orange rhinestones.

Humourous Birthday Card with Stella

A humurous birthday card this time:

The card is for the challenges at:
Incy Wincy - Make us laugh
http://incywincydesigns.blogspot.co.nz/2013/01/make-us-laugh.html
Love to Create - Share 3 favourite colours
http://lovetocreatechallenge.blogspot.co.nz/2013/01/challenge-49-share-your-3-favorite.html
Papertake Weekly - Tie up loose ends (make a bow)
http://papertakeweekly.blogspot.co.uk/2013/01/tie-up-your-loose-ends.html

I have used a black and white background paper from Create with TLC.  I have added colour to this with Distress Inks - mustard seed, spiced marmalade and worn lipstick.  I matted this piece on to a paper by DIY and Digital Designs.  The image is from Bugaboo and is called Stella Birthday - Eat more cake.  I have added a red bow and some red rhinestones as embellishments.

Here is the sentiment (also from Bugaboo) on the inside of the card:

I used a Spellbinders labels die for the sentiment and then embossed it to give it a bit more definition.  The inner of the card is lined with paper from DIY and Digital Designs.

Marker and Brush container

I have had my brushes and some markers sitting in a plastic cup waiting for me to get around to creating something better:

This project is for the challenges at:
Stamptacular Sunday - stamping + fairy fever
http://stamptacularsundaychallenge.blogspot.co.nz/2013/01/challenge-199-fairy-fever.html
Sparkle and Glitter - Anything but a square
http://sparkleandglitterwithrick.blogspot.co.nz/2013/01/challenge-8-anything-but-square.html
Pixie Dust Studio - No squares allowed
http://pixieduststudiopixiechallenge.blogspot.co.nz/

I drink alot of drinking chocolate and end up with alot of empty containers.  This one I have managed to put to good use - we won't talk about how many others are waiting to be done!!

First, I applied a layer of Gesso to the container.  Then I painted a light blue acrylic paint over the top.  The images have all been stamped onto tissue paper and then applied using Mod Podge.  The stamps are an acrylic set from Whimsy Stamps. The images have been coloured with watercolour pencils.  I then applied some ribbon top and bottom.  I'm pleased with how this turned out and have it sitting in front of me while I am working - much better than looking at a cheap plastic cup!

Make a Scene

I haven't made a scenic card for quite some time.  I quite enjoyed putting this one together:

The card is for the challenge at Cupcake Craft:
http://cupcakecraftchallenges.blogspot.co.nz/2013/01/cupcake-226-make-scene.html

The card uses a wall digi from Spyder's Corner.  The boy sitting on the wall is from Bugaboo and is called Ruler Boy.  However, I fussy cut him and he lost his ruler!!  The clouds are a die from Memory Box.

The wall and boy have been coloured using copic markers.  The remainder of the colouring is with Faber Castell watercolour pencils.

Vintage Romance

A card using some vintage images and colouring:

The card is for the challenges at:
Kenny K's Krafty Krew - Vintage
http://kennykskraftykrew.blogspot.co.uk/2013/01/challenge-127-vintage.html
Kaboodle Doodles - with a ribbon
http://kaboodledoodles.blogspot.co.nz/2013/01/challenge-155-ribbon.html
CRAFT Challenge - Valentines or Love
http://trimmiescraftchallenge.blogspot.co.uk/2013/01/challenge-191-24th-of-january.html

The background is a montage of images from The Graphics Fairy.  I then stippled over them with Distress Ink - Old Paper and added some Distress Ink - Vintage Photo at the corners.  The image is from Kenny K and has been stippled with Old Paper and the edges with Vintage Photo.  I added some colour to the heart using watercolour pencils.  The ribbon roses have been inked with Vintage photo to give them more of a vintage feel - they were silver glitter.

I'm hoping that ribbon roses count for the Kaboodle Doodles challenge - they are made from ribbon!

Little Penguin Winter Reindeer

Another christmas card into the box:

This one is for the following challenges:
De Creatieve Zebra - sketch
http://decreatievezebra.blogspot.co.nz/2013/01/challenge-3-sketch.html

ABC Christmas Challenge
http://abcchristmaschallenge.blogspot.co.nz/2013/01/b-for-bows-or-boys.html

The card uses the sketch from De Creatieve Zebra.  The background paper is a freebie from Décosse's Dynamite Doodles.  I have used a wide ribbon for the cross on the sketch.  The image is from Bugaboo and is called Little Penguin Winter Reindeer.  I have kept the colouring to blues plus Y00 for beak and bells and C1 for the body.  The sentiment is from Desert Diva.  Matting is with blue cardstock from my stash.  The buttons are also from my stash and the little blue bow is made from ribbon tied around our christmas crackers.  Because it was only a short piece it took quite a few attempts to actually tie it into a bow.  I was determined to put it into a proper bow and not cheat with a knot type bow!  I kept all the ribbon from the christmas crackers and have managed to put the lime green one to use on another project - still have some more blue left for something else.

Just in case, it is not clear - my line for Catch the Bug is:
Sentiment - Bugaboo Image - Ribbon

New little kitty

No I don't have a new little kitty - although my daughter would love it if we did.   The image that I have used in this card is Little Kitty 7 by Just Some Lines:

This card is for the challenges at:
Just Some Lines - Something New
http://justsomelinesblog.blogspot.co.nz/2013/01/new-challenge-something-new.html
Little Tangles - All About Buttons
http://littletangles.blogspot.co.nz/2013/01/challenge-5-all-about-buttons-sponsored.html

My something new in this card is actually two things.  The image from Just Some Lines I have had for about a week.  The Spellbinders labels dies that I have used to cut the image and matting are also new.

The background paper is one from a paper pad by DCWV called Lemon Flowers.  I have added some purple glitter tape from American Crafts.  The buttons are from my stash.  The sentiment is one by Create with TLC that I have added some colour to.

Yummy Cupcake

A very yummy looking cupcake!

This card is for the challenge at:
PaperCrafting World
http://mypapercrafting.com/search/label/Digi%20Desserts%20Fridaze

The background paper comes from my stash.  The image is from PaperCrafting World.  I have coloured the image using copic markers and die-cut and embossed using Spellbinders Labels die.  I have embellished the card with pink glitter tape from American Crafts and some pink rhinestones.

Sketch with a snowman

Another Christmas card into the box - at this rate I'll have enough by half way through the year!

This card is for the challenges at:
The Sweet Stop - Sketch + snowman
http://sweetstopsketches.blogspot.co.nz/2013/01/sss194-sketch-with-spin-and-prize.html
Kaboodle Doodles - with  a ribbon
http://kaboodledoodles.blogspot.co.nz/2013/01/challenge-155-ribbon.html
Shelly's Images - one sentiment, two Designer Papers, three bling
http://shellysimagesblog.blogspot.co.nz/2013/01/ttt-easy-as-1-2-3.html
CHNC - Anything Christmas
http://craftyhazelnutschristmaschallenge2.blogspot.co.uk/
CRAFT Challenge
http://trimmiescraftchallenge.blogspot.co.uk/2013/01/challenge-190-17th-of-january-christmas.html

The sketch for this card comes from The Sweet Stop.  The only alteration I have made to the sketch is add three rhinestones to the top of the card!

I have used two designer papers for this card.  The vellum snowflake one comes from Free Digital Scrapbook.  Unfortunately in my photograph it is a bit hard picking up the snowflakes clearly - they kind of look like grey smudges - they look better on the actual card!  The second paper is from Décosse's Dynamite Doodles.

The image that I have used for the card comes from Spyder's Corner and is called Ornamental Snowman.  I love this image as it is just that bit different from the other snowman images that I've seen.

The sentiment is an acrylic stamp from a set.  I have all the stamp set together on the acetate sheets it came with - only trouble is I've misplaced the original packet so don't know the source!

The bow is made from grosgrain ribbon from American Crafts.

Skater Sassy

The challenge at Paper Craft Planet for Sassy Studio Designs is to "Show your favourite style":
http://www.papercraftplanet.com/group/sassystudiodesigns/forum/topics/fabulous-freebie-friday-1-18-13-and-challenge
I am also entering this card into the Anything Goes challenge at Lady Anne's:
http://www.ladyanneschallenges.com/anything-goes.html

I would say that my favourite style is CAS.  However, I had a little bit of difficulty with this image keeping it CAS - I kept wanting to add embellishments!

The card uses the Skater Sassy image that came with the challenge.  I nearly got this image a couple of months ago and then decided on a different one instead.  Now, I have both of them!

The image has been coloured with copic markers and then matted with two shades of brown cardstock from Rosies Studio.  I added some chocolate brown grosgrain ribbon from American Crafts and three rhinestones to the card (couldn't resist!).

Thank You Pixie

A sweet Thank You card using my favourite colours:

This card is for the challenges at:
Pixie Dust Studio - Thank You
http://pixieduststudiopixiechallenge.blogspot.co.nz/2013/01/thank-you-challenge.html
Love to Create - share 3 favourite colours
http://lovetocreatechallenge.blogspot.co.nz/2013/01/challenge-49-share-your-3-favorite.html
Kaboodle Doodles - with a ribbon
http://kaboodledoodles.blogspot.co.nz/2013/01/challenge-155-ribbon.html

The background paper for this card comes from a paper pad by American Crafts called Neopolitan.  The image is Sugar Plum Fairy from Pixie Dust Studio.   I have die-cut this using a Spellbinders Die.
The sentiment is from Create with TLC.  I have cut it using a tag die from Spellbinders and then threaded through some yellow grosgrain ribbon from American Crafts.  I have added some bling to her crown, flower in her hair and the card itself.  I couldn't find small enough yellow bling so I used clear and coloured it using my yellow copic.

I had some difficulty with the colours as I really only have two favourite colours - yellow and orange.  I team these with red for the third colour - there is also some brown as a neutral colour.

Embossed

I haven't had the embossing folders out for a while:

This card is for the following challenges:
Meljens Designs - all white except the image
http://meljensdesignsdt.blogspot.co.nz/2013/01/challenge-143-white-out.html
Totally Papercrafts - Embossing of any kind
http://totallypapercrafts.blogspot.co.nz/2013/01/its-embossing-time.html
Crimbo Crackers - white on white
http://crimbo-crackers.blogspot.co.nz/2013/01/challenge-33-white-on-white.html
CHNC - Anything Christmas
http://craftyhazelnutschristmaschallenge2.blogspot.co.uk/

The card has been embossed with an embossing folder called Tuscan Tiles.  However, I actually think that the embossing looks alot like snowflakes!  I was originally going to use my holly embossing folder except I can't find it.

The image is from Meljens Designs and is called Penguin Cocoa.  The image and snowflake have been die-cut using dies that I purchased recently.  Both of them are Spellbinders dies.  I have also added some white glitter tape from American Crafts.  The image has been coloured with the palest copic markers that I have.  I wanted just a hint of colour.

Beary Christmas

A musical Christmas card:

This card is for the following challenges:
Pennys Paper - Teddy Bears
http://pennyschallenges.blogspot.co.nz/2013/01/challenge-110-teddy-bears.html
CRAFT Challenge - Christmas in January
http://trimmiescraftchallenge.blogspot.co.uk/2013/01/challenge-190-17th-of-january-christmas.html
CHNC - Anything Christmas
http://craftyhazelnutschristmaschallenge2.blogspot.co.uk/

The background paper comes from a paper pack by Rosies Studio.  The image is from May Brit.  I have coloured the image using copic markers and kindy glitz.  The die is from Spellbinders.  I have embossed the die and then added Distress Ink to the beads using a Tim Holtz Blending Tool.  The Beary Christmas sentiment comes from GTC Crafty Corner.  The music clef die is a Memory Box one.  Both the matting and music clef are cut from glitter cardstock by DCWV.

Ribbon Roses and Rhinestones

This card actually has four R's - including "Red"!

The card is for the challenges at:
Sassy Studio Designs - Dare to Be Sassy Thursday
http://sassystudiodesigns.blogspot.co.nz/2013/01/dare-to-be-sassy-thursday-160.html

The background paper is covered in red roses.  It is from a paper pad by DCWV called Immortal Love.  The image is from Sassy Studio Designs and is called My Fair Lady.  I've had this image for a while and not had the opportunity to use it.  The image is coloured using copic markers R59, R46, RV10, E000.

The embellishments are red organza ribbon across the card and also tied into a bow; two different sizes of red roses and some red rhinestones from Kaisercraft.

Snowflakes and glitter

Another snowflake card - this one with no DP:

The card is for the following challenges:
Milk Coffee - snowflakes, glitter
http://milkcoffeechallenge.blogspot.co.nz/2013/01/snowflakessnow-plus-sparkle-andor.html
Digi Haven - Digi + winter or snow
http://digihaven.blogspot.co.nz/2013/01/jan-18th-wintersnow-challenge.html

The card uses some snowflake dies by Spellbinders.  The largest one has been used to cut the image out. The image is coloured using copic markers.  I have added three blobs of glue to the top right and then glittered them.  I have edged a snow border around the card using Kindy Glitz and added three clear rhinestones to finish.

Christmas Candle

A nice traditional Christmas card:

This one is for the following challenges:
Lady Anne's Progressive Christmas Challenge
http://www.ladyanneschallenges.com/6/post/2013/01/lady-annes-christmas-progressive-challenge.html
CHNC - Anything Christmas
http://craftyhazelnutschristmaschallenge2.blogspot.co.uk/2013/01/chnc-challenge-extra-for-january.html

This card uses background paper from a paper pad called Christmas Collection.  The image is from Lady Anne's Progressive Christmas Challenge and comes from Crafting with Jack.  I have matted with some olive textured cardstock and added three green rhinestones.   I've added some Glossy Accents to the candle - in the photograph it actually looks like the candle is burning!

O Little Town of Bethlehem

Last year I had a shortage of more religious themed cards.  This one will help to prevent that problem  this year!

This card is for the following challenges:
Lady Anne's Progressive Christmas Challenge
http://www.ladyanneschallenges.com/christmas-challenge.html
CHNC - Anything Christmas
http://craftyhazelnutschristmaschallenge2.blogspot.co.uk/

The image for this card was a supplied image for the progressive christmas challenge at Lady Anne's.  The image comes from Crafting with Jack. I printed the image out twice - once on cardstock and the other on paper.  I made a mask of the image using the paper copy and then stippled Distress Inks on the cardstock.  The Distress Inks that I have used are Mustard Seed, Dusty Concord and Forest Moss.  I then used the Dusty Concord with a wet brush and brush stroked over the stippling of that colour to give it more of a realistic random sky look.  The image and stars have been coloured with copic markers E11, C7, W7, G99 and Y08.  The stars have some Glossy Accents added to make them twinkle.

Feathers

A very elegant blue and silver card:

Brown Sugar - Hats, Heels and Handbags
http://brownsugarchallenge.blogspot.co.nz/2013/01/challenge-25-hats-heels-and-handbags.html

The sketch that this card is based on is this one:

The image for this card comes from Sans Design.  The image can be found in her webshop:
http://shop.sansdesign.se/
This particular image is entitled "Feathers".  I have coloured the image using my copic markers RV13, W5, B32, E000.

The papers for the card come from Bearly Mine Design.  They are April Freebie 10 and December Freebie 04.  I think the December one is December 2011 as I've had it for a while.

The colour inspiration comes from the photo at Tuesday Alchemy.  The idea of the ribbon roses also comes from the photo even though the photo has bows.  It was the folds beneath those bows that made me think of these ribbon roses.

I'm not sure about the challenge for Brown Sugar - it says hats, heels and handbags but a couple of the DT cards are missing one of these items so I'm hoping that this one still counts with just the hat.

Party!

We have come to the final challenge in the week long Bugaboo Birthday Bash.
http://catchthebugblog.blogspot.co.nz/2013/01/week-long-bugaboo-birthday-bash.html

This week has been an absolute blast.  The final challenge has a wonderful image:

I really had fun adding texture to this image.  Out come the glitter, Glossy Accents and Kindy Glitz!

The background paper for this card comes from a paper pad by Kate Knight called Spring Fling.  The image is from Bugaboo and is called Birthday Doodle Block.  I have coloured the image with copic markers and added some gold glitter to the Party word, Glossy Accents to the balloon and Kindy Glitz as highlights to the doodles.

The twine along the top comes from Tim Holtz Ideology.

http://catchthebugblog.blogspot.co.nz/2013/01/bugaboo-birthday-bashblog-hop.html

Here is the card I created:

The background paper comes from Lemon Flower Matstack by DCWV.

The image is from Bugaboo and is called LD Cool.  The sentiment is from Create with TLC and is called Awww Shucks.  Both the image and sentiment are matted with black cardstock.

I have added some grosgrain ribbon from American Crafts and some black square rhinestones.

Lots of flowers in the Pumpkin Patch

A nice summery card:

This one is for the challenge at:
Nutcrafters - Lots of flowers:
http://nutcrafters.blogspot.co.nz/2013/01/challenge-34-flowers-and-lots-of-them.html

I have used a couple of papers from a paper pad by American Crafts called Neopolitan.  The image is from Nutcrafters and is called Autumn Digi.  I decided to give it more of a summer spin!  The colouring is done with copic markers including a border around the Spellbinders labels die.  I have added three ribbon flowers to match the flowers on the backing paper.

You make my heart sing

A Valentines card this time:

This card is for the challenge at Scrap Happy Paper Crafter:
http://www.scraphappypapercrafter.com/2013/01/january-scraphappy-paper-crafter.html

The adorable digi and it's matching sentiment come from Scrap Happy Paper Crafter.  As soon as I saw this image I wanted to use it so this challenge was just perfect timing.  To go with the music theme, I have used some music sheet paper from a paper pad by MME called Market.

New Baby

A card to celebrate some new babies:

This card is for the challenges at:
Kaboodle Doodles - buttons
http://kaboodledoodles.blogspot.co.nz/2013/01/challenge-154-buttons.html
Stamp Your life - new beginnings
http://stampyourlifeblog.blogspot.co.nz/2013/01/challenge-2-new-beginnings.html

The background paper is from a paper pad called Lemon Flowers by DCWV.  The matting and buttons are from glitter cardstock also by DCWV.  The button die is from Memory Box and is the second smallest in the set.

The image is from Bugaboo.

Aged to Perfection

I seem to be on a bit of a roll with blue themed cards today.  I think looking at inspirational photos for challenges that are blue might have something to do with that!

This card is for the following challenges:
Catch the Bug - Birthday Bash
http://catchthebugblog.blogspot.co.nz/2013/01/week-long-bugaboo-birthday-bash.html
Tuesday Alchemy - Inspiration Photo
http://tuesdayalchemy.blogspot.gr/2013/01/challenge-48-winter-wonder-photo.html
Pinspirational Challenge - Inspiration Photo
http://pinspirationalchallenges.blogspot.co.nz/2013/01/pinspirational-challenge-40.html

The card uses background paper from DCWV - A Type of Art Matstack.  The image and sentiment come from Bugaboo - Stella Aged to Perfection.  The bow attached to the ribbon is from my stash- had it for ages.  The ribbon is from American Crafts.

Escape to the Beach

When I think of Christmas, I often have a bit of a clash of thoughts in my head.  Most of the cards, etc we see in the shops have snow and snowflakes on them but here in New Zealand, Christmas is in the middle of summer - the thought of escaping to the beach is bliss.  So, this card has those two scenarios coming together.

The card is for the challenges at:

Broken Box Stock - Winter/snowflakes
http://brokenboxstock.blogspot.co.nz/2012/12/challenge-17-winter-snowflakes.html

The sketch for this challenge comes from Christmas Challenges {with sketches}.  The paper comes from Decossé's Dynamite Doodles. The image and sentiment are from Scribbles by Sandy.  The image is called Hang Ten Brrr!  The sentiment is called Escape.

The doily and brads used on this card are both from my stash.  In the case of the brads, they have been sitting there for at least a couple of years!  The doilies I bought about a year ago thinking they might come in handy at some point!

Both the Pinspirational Challenge and Tuesday Alchemy Challenge had blue colourings in the inspiration photo.  Usually, I'm inspired by something in the photo but this time it was the colours!

Building a Snowman

Have you ever had one of those times when you know what you want to create but one element isn't quite right?  This card was one of those.  I have been working on it for days but couldn't find a paper to fit what I had in mind.  Then, at 11pm last night, I found what I was looking for.  First thing this morning, I was up and eager to create:

The card will be entered into the following challenges:
Fresh Brewed Designs - Anything Goes
http://freshbreweddesigns.blogspot.co.nz/2013/01/fresh-brewed-designs-2013-challenge-1.html
Tuesday Alchemy - Inspiration Photo

Papertake Weekly - Baby, It's cold outside

The wonderful paper that I mentioned above comes from Decossé's Dynamite Doodles.  You can find it here:
http://decossesdynamitedoodles.blogspot.co.nz/2013/01/wonderful-wednesdays-paper-play-for.html
The image that I have used is called Building a Snowman and it comes from Fresh Brewed Designs.  I have coloured the image with copic markers and die-cut using my new Wonky Squares die from Spellbinders.  The glittery snowflake is also a Spellbinders die and has been cut from some glitter cardstock by DCWV.  I have added a pearl to the centre of the snowflake and raised the image up to give the card some dimension.

Fresh Brewed Designs also has a blog hop coming up soon:

Tiddly Inks Christmas

I went shopping after Christmas and found this paper pad by MME that I just had to use!  Hence, another Christmas card:

The card is for the challenges at:
Tiddly Inks - Anything Goes
http://tiddlyinkschallenge.blogspot.co.nz/2013/01/challenge-101-anything-goes.html
CHNC - Reindeer are resting
http://craftyhazelnutschristmaschallenge.blogspot.co.uk/2013/01/chnc-challenge-107-rudolph-is-hiding.html
CHNC - Anything christmas
http://craftyhazelnutschristmaschallenge2.blogspot.co.uk/2013/01/chnc-challenge-extra-for-january.html

Both background papers are from the MME Christmas paper pad.  The image is a combination of two images from Tiddly Inks - Shayne's frame and Christmas puppy.  I have coloured the puppy and frame using copic markers and Kindy Glitz.  I think the main colours that I used were R59, E08, E04 plus a red (could be R27) for the berries and a green (could be G07).  I'm guessing on the last two though!

Thanks Sew Much

I really like the look of this card:

The card is for the challenges at:
Stamptacular Sunday - sketch + stamp
http://stamptacularsundaychallenge.blogspot.co.nz/2013/01/challenge-198-sketch-challenge.html
De Creatieve Zebra - Anything Goes
http://decreatievezebra.blogspot.co.nz/2013/01/challenge-2-alles-mag.html

I wasn't sure whether "stamp" included digi stamps so went for the safe option and used acrylic stamps.  The stamps I have used both come from a set by Nitwit Collections called Thimbles 'n Threads.  I have stamped the images using Memento Tuxedo Black ink and then coloured with copic markers.  The two papers that I have used both come from a paper pad by DCWV called Lemon Flowers.  The background has been stippled using Mustard Seed Distress Ink.  The matting is silver pearlised cardstock.

Goth Bull

This one is a bit of a goth card with a bull:

The card is for the challenges at:
Kenny K's Krafty Krew - Goth
http://kennykskraftykrew.blogspot.co.uk/2013/01/challenge-126-going-gothic.html
Incy Wincy Designs - Tic Tac Toe
http://incywincydesigns.blogspot.co.nz/2013/01/tic-tac-toe.html

For the Tic Tac Toe, I have used the centre vertical line:
The bottom paper of the three is a black paper with a moon on it that comes from a paper pad by DCWV called Immortal Love. The other two papers layered over the top come from a paper pad by DCWV called Rockstar.
The metal that I have used is three brads
The bling is three black diamond shaped rhinestones.

The image that I have used is from Kenny K and is called Cute Bull.  For this card, he is "Goth Bull"!!!! I have coloured him using Copic Markers 100, V09, V06 and V05.

Monochromatic Yellow

The challenge at Whoopsi Daisy is a Monochromatic one:
http://cutedaisymay.blogspot.co.nz/2013/01/monochromatic.html
The challenge at Crafting for All Seasons is something new:
http://craftingforallseasons.blogspot.co.nz/2013/01/challenge-43-something-new.html

After initially thinking I would go with either lavender or purple, I ended up going with a monochromatic yellow!

The something new in this card is the Spellbinders Labels die that I used that I only received today.  The two yellow cardstock that I have used are also relatively new (christmas).  They come from a paper pad from DCWV called Yellow Flowers.  The yellow organza ribbon that I used worked really well with this image. The image is from Whoopsi Daisy and is called Cutie.

3 in a Row with Bugaboo

We are up to Day 3 of the Bugaboo Birthday Bash:
http://catchthebugblog.blogspot.co.nz/2013/01/week-long-bugaboo-birthday-bash.html

Today it is a Three in a Row challenge:

I chose:
Bugaboo Image - the freebie for this challenge
Bling - and lots of it
Pink - lots of that too.

The paper that I have used comes from a paper pad by DCWV called A Type of Art Matstack.  The image and sentiment are both from Bugaboo - especially for this challenge.  I have coloured the image and sentiment using copic markers and highlighted the balloons and cupcake icing with Glossy Accents.  I have added some strips of pearls and pink rhinestones to the card for a lot of added bling.

Be Inspired 19

The challenge at The Alley Way Stamps can be found here:
http://www.thealleywaystamps.blogspot.co.nz/2013/01/day-4-of-giveaways-be-inspired-19.html

I was inspired by the row of books which led to my choice of background paper:

The image that I have used is the January freebie from The Alley Way Stamps which has been die-cut using a Nellie Snellen Multi Frame die.  The sentiment was an earlier freebie also from The Alley Way Stamps.  I die-cut the sentiment with my new ribbon banner die-cut set from Spellbinders.  I also embossed the die-cut using the embossing mat - I'm starting to get the hang of using the embossing mat now.  The background paper that I used comes from a paper pad by DCWV called Serenity.
